First of all there is yet to be proved that there can be successful tattooing classes or Schools any where. I Personally Say “being an artist is a Life Style, Not just a career choice or profession”. First of all you must be really serious about learning to Tattoo. For more than just learning to tattoo you will be learning about Do s and don’ts about tattooing. Hygiene and Sterilizing, Clients and People Handling Skills Etc.
Things that I can suggest to get a good tattooing training or Career or Apprentice under the Best tattoo Artist in your eyes.
- Believe in the Tattoo Artist (your Mentor) who is going to teach you tattooing. Set up an interview session. Try and do a good home work by knowing what tattooing is all about? and WHY? You want to become a Tattoo Artist.
- Be a good Artist: If you cannot draw well, you cannot tattoo well. If you drawing skills are not up to the mark for being a decent artist. Forget about being a tattoo artist. At least try and draw good and come up with some of your best artwork and then take it to the Tattoo Artist you want to learn from. Your tattoo artist would decide on the rest of your training by polishing or rebuilding your skills.
- Choose a Best tattoo Artist in your Area: Do your Research and go through as many tattoo artist’s portfolio as you possibly can. Chose a couple of them and try to decide who you want as your teacher. The kind of Style Suits you the Best
- Be prepared for the Worst, A good Student in tattooing spends about year or year and a half with no money or very less money by working for the tattoo studio. All you would be doing is sterilizing equipment and attending phone calls and setting up appointments etc. Mean while you will also be building a very good base for your future in tattooing and getting better every day as long as you are focused.
Remember again there is nothing called as tattooing classes or course practically. If you have it You will make.
